Heba comes from Cairo, Egypt, and moved to Vienna in 2023 to study painting and printmaking at Kunstschule Wien. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Business Administration from Cairo University and began her career in banking and real estate in Cairo, Paris and London. Her practice centres on oil painting and printmaking and treats objects as carriers of history, cultural weight and accumulated meaning. Her diploma thesis and project, the installation Friendly Fire, looks at how war imagery is consumed through gaming and visual culture. Developing this project sparked her interest in exhibition-making as a way of mediating ideas, where space and arrangement become part of what a work says. Heba lives and works between Vienna and Cairo.
